Poem: Below the CanopyDeep below the canopyPoem: Below the Canopy by ~PandaESL
(Far too deep for one to see)
Wandered wee miss Margary.
Miles from home and out of sight,
(Growing fearful in her plight)
Die out here, she thought she might.
Dangers known, and known quite well,
(She heard many townsfolk tell)
Her forecast was far from swell.
A brush of wind felt on her cheek,
(Suddenly she felt quite meek)
Both her knees grew quickly weak.
It came fully unannounced,
(Height and features quite pronounced)
Her prey altogether trounced.
Lifting Margary with her tail,
(Struggling to no avail)
Carefully, since she was frail.
Her scales were green, much like her eyes,
(Each of which could see through lies)
Both gleaming at her tasty prize.
Held so high, she couldn't bear,
(Jump from here, she wouldn't dare)
Transfixed by her emerald stare.
Giant mouth parted like a door,
(A peak at what was in store)
Into it her eyes did bore.
Her eyes began to shimmer,
(Deciding this match's winner)
As her fate grew ever dimmer.
Placed on a tongue wet and greedy,
